Meet the Staff

Shelly – Registered Dental Assistant: I began my dental career in 1985 as a dental assistant.
I became a Registered Dental Assistant in 1988. I have experience in all aspects of dentistry, and an Associates of Science Degree from Sierra College.

I strive to keep our patients educated and up to date on all of the latest procedures and health topics. I have attended many educational classes and seminars to enable the use of current techniques and materials.

I feel very fortunate to work with such a highly-trained and passionate team of people. The same care that we give our patients is the same manner in which we treat each other.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you!

Dr. Barry Mercer

Dena – Office Manager: I have been in the dental field for 23 years. I began my career in San Jose as a Registered Dental Assistant, transitioning to running the front office. I joined Dr. Mercer’s wonderful team in 2005 and I am one of the first people you will meet at our friendly office!

Jeannie – Financial Coordinator: It is my pleasure to assist you with coordination of your treatment plan, financial concerns and insurance. If I don’t have an answer to your question, I will do whatever it takes to get you the information needed to make the best decision in regards to your dental care.

When you come to our office you will find Dr. Mercer to be kind and compassionate with a genuine concern for his patients. He has a very caring, professional, and most of all, friendly team that I am happy to be a part of. I truly enjoy meeting our patients.

With over 20 years in the dental field I have a diverse dental background with experience as a manufacturing representative and a dental supply and equipment consultant. During this time I received extensive training in all areas of dentistry, customer service and management. I have been with Dr. Mercer since 2006.

Michelle – Dental Hygienist: I have been in the dental field for 11 years and eight of those as a Dental Hygienist. I have known that this was the profession for me since the age of 16. Also, I discovered that one of the greatest perks is working with people. It is a priority to me to provide my patients with a great experience and to promote overall dental health.

Leanne – Dental Hygienist: I have been a Dental Hygienist for 15 years. I received my degree from Cabrillo College in Capitola. I have been a part of this office since 2004. I carry multiple licenses and am able to practice in California and many northeast regions of the United States. The most rewarding part of my job is building long-lasting relationships with my patients and providing them with the utmost in dental care.
