Frequently Asked Questions

If you’ve reviewed our website and found yourself with further questions about who we are and what we do, that’s not a problem – our team has plenty of answers to share. Please take a look at our FAQs below for more information. If you’re still wondering about something that isn’t addressed below, you’re always welcome to contact our Loomis location directly.

When should I come in for a routine checkup?

As a general rule, we like to see our adult and child patients every six months for a dental examination. It’s important to your oral health because during these exams, we check for any decay and then provide a deep cleaning to remove plaque and other bacterial buildup that simple brushing and flossing can’t manage. This is vital to your overall oral health and will help prolong the life of your teeth. If you can’t remember the last time that you came in, just call us! We’ll tell you when your next scheduled appointment should take place.

When should my child come in for their first children’s dentistry appointment?

Dr. Mercer likes to see children around the ages of 4 or 5 for a first exam. This grants enough time for their teeth to come in and for your child to be able to sit still without being uncomfortable. However, if you notice a problem with the way your child’s teeth are growing, don’t hesitate to call us for an appointment.

Do you have available replacement teeth?

Yes! Dr. Mercer can help restore your bite with a variety of methods. After a thorough examination, we can recommend what technique is best for your smile. We have dental implants, dentures and partials, and crown and bridge therapy to help substitute your missing teeth. Schedule an appointment to regain your smile today.

Do you accept dental insurance?

Yes! Dr. Mercer is happy to accept your dental insurance, and we’ll file it on your behalf. It’s important to us to make sure that you know about the full benefits of your coverage. If you have any questions about your dental insurance, feel free to ask us. We’ll answer your questions to the best of our ability.
